Police are investigating the alleged wounding of Karl Alpin a 29-y-o Guyana Forestry Officer of the Guyana Forestry Commission (GFC) based at Orealla Village Corentyne Berbice which occurred yesterday at about 23:40hrs by suspects Clyde Herman aka “Backa” a labourer of Orealla Village and Victor Edward aka “Chuck”, a Shopkeeper of Orealla Village.
According to reports, the victim and the suspects are known to each other, on the day in question, the Alpin and the suspects were consuming alcohol on Edward’s property when an argument ensued between him and Herman.
As a result, a scuffle ensued after which Herman left, armed himself with a piece of wood and returned where he dealt the victim several lashes about his body.
Edwards also dealt the victim several cuffs about his body.
Alpin and Herman both received injuries about their bodies, Herman was seen by the Village doctor and sent away, while Karl is presently at the Orealla Hospital.
Both suspects are presently in police custody at Orealla Police Station awaiting transportation to be transported to Springlands police station for further investigation as well as the victim to seek further medical treatment. Investigations are ongoing.
