…Accuses the coalition of deception, bullyism & freakism
Former APNU councillor in the municipality of Linden, Lennox Gasper has resigned from the People’s National Congress Reform, accusing the party of lies, bullyism and deception.
In a two-page letter seen by Daily News, Gasper noted that he joined the PNC/R in May 2016 with the intention to assist the coalition with a development agenda to assist the town of Linden and by extension the entire Region 10. He noted that he was upbeat of the agenda of the coalition, considering that it was criticizing the People’s Progressive Party Civic, PPP/C of alleged willful neglection of Linden.
Contradictorily however, Gasper said “the choice of the executive in 2015 to reward itself with hefty salary increases as one of the first acts of governance was the ominous signal that we all should have heeded.” This was said despite he joined the PNCR almost a year after the salary increase was taken.
Gasper claimed that he was unable to execute his functions at the Linden Town Council because of the alleged barriers placed by his party.
“I could not deliver on that promise as a result of the constraints of control freakism imposed by the party and the heartless non-provision of resources by the government.”
Regardless of the proclaimed ills of the coalition whilst in government, Gasper continued to serve the party, even campaigning for the APNU/AFC to return them to government.
