On Friday, Louie Lewis of 308 West Ruimveldt, Georgetown, appeared at the Georgetown Magistrate Court before Senior Magistrate Leron Daly to answer a Simple Larceny charge committed on Vinshawly Kandasammy.
He pleaded not guilty and was granted bail in the sum of $200,000. The matter was adjourned to April, 9th, 2021.
The charge stated that between June 5th and June 6th, 2020 at 227 West Ruimveldt, Lewis stole one black Yamaha 1000 motorcycle valuing the $2 million property of Kandasammy.
On the day in question, Kandasammy drove and parked his Motorcycle bearing license CF 8564 at the aforementioned address and retired to bed. Upon waking up around 05:30hrs the next day, he discovered the motorcycle missing. A report to the Police station.
Sometime later, the victim saw Lewis, who is well known to him, riding the bike at Success, East Coast Demerara. He was confronted but managed to escape. Another report was made which led to his arrest.
