Leopold Street resident arrested for illegal gun

A man of Leopold Street, Werk-en-Rust, Georgetown was arrested for allegedly having an illegal firearm on his premises on Sunday at about 11:30hrs.

According to reports, police went to the location based on information received. Upon seeing the police, the man ran into an apartment holding his crotch. Police then gave chased and he was caught. However, a search was conducted but nothing was found. A search in the apartment revealed a .32 Taurus pistol with 4 live matching rounds. No one else was in the apartment at the time of the search and arrest.

Investigations are ongoing.
