Kenford Downer was remanded to jail for three counts of murder in the course or furtherance to arson. He was not required to plead to the charges when it was read to him by Magistrate Crystal Lambert on Wednesday at the Vreed-en-Hoop Magistrate Court. He will return to court on January 27.

Downer allegedly burnt his wife and children to death at Four Miles Squatting Area, Bartica. Caroline Kennedy, 5-y-o Mariana Downer and 3-y-o Gabriella Kennedy charred remains were found in their house.
Reports are that the man and his reputed wife had an argument after he came home and found her on the phone talking to another individual. He allegedly lit the small wooden house on fire while his family was asleep.
