Cuban National Yoel Rodrigues has been remanded to jail for the murder of 34 year old Tara Krishnaran and 11 year old Larissa Singh on Boxing Day. He appeared before Chief Magistrate Ann Mc Lennan at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court and was not required to plead to the charges. He was slapped with two murder charges. Rodrigues allegedly confessed to the killings
According to updated information reaching Daily News, the suspect told investigators that on Christmas night, Krishnaran was drinking vodka. At about 18:30hrs, a male went to the house and spoke to Krishnaran, he subsequently went away. Rodrigues further told investigators that shortly after, Krishnaran said she was going by a relative, but he (Rodrigues) objected.
The man further claimed that the woman began insulting him, went into the kitchen and returned with a hammer and knife. He claimed that she tried to hit him. As a result, the man said he took away the hammer and knife from her, threw her on the bed and allegedly killed her. Rodrigues further told investigators that Singh was present and he also allegedly killed her and then had sex with her.
It was further related that the following day, he locked the house, joined a bus and went to Linden where he was captured.
